Good morning from The Garden!

Controlled anger is an emotion; uncontrolled anger can be a sin. Sometimes it is necessary to actually get angry to get things done. It can motivate you to stand up for what is right and to face what is ahead. But the Bible clearly states that it should be controlled. It should not be harbored inside you. It should be expressed in a godly way.

In your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. Do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:26-27.

You can give a pathway to the devil when you nurse your anger, when you bottle it up and let it make you hard and bitter.

When you read in this scripture: “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,” you can realize that there is a time limit on your anger. These words do not literally mean settling things before going to bed, but they are good words to live by.

When anger is vented thoughtlessly or expressed in a cruel way, relationships can be damaged and sometimes lives destroyed. You are your own best sounding board. Think things through and be sure of what is in your power to control. Defy Satan by keeping him from using your anger to divide you and someone else. If you can’t mend a relationship with someone else, you can mend your own heart and live in peace with yourself.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
