Good morning from The Garden!

There are many paintings depicting Jesus standing at a door and knocking. In each one the door represents the door to a person’s heart.

One of the earliest ones entitled “Light of the World.” is painted by William Holman Hunt.  This painting has some interesting features:

Jesus knocks gently. (He doesn’t beat down the door.)

The door is grown up in weeds. (The world around us wants to crowd Jesus out.)

The door has no outside handle. (We have to open our hearts to allow Him in.)

Jesus is carrying a lighted lantern. (Jesus is the only true light. As Jesus steps in, He brings the light into the darkness)

Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me”. Revelations 3:20.

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me [opens the door] should stay in darkness.” John 12:46.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son [the light] that whosoever believes in Him [opens the door to the heart] shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16.
Just open your heart today and let Jesus in. Your life will never be the same.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
