When you visit a zoo, you always notice that the untamed animals are behind a fence that separates you from the danger of the animals. Usually there is a worker or a guard close by to be sure that you stay within the protection of the fence.
James 3:8 states that no MAN can tame the tongue. If the tongue cannot be tamed, then it needs constant watch care.
“Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 131:3
The average person opens his or her mouth over 700 times a day to speak. That is a lot of watching. That is why you need God as your watchman.
Pray this Psalm every morning and God will guide your thoughts and guard your lips.
The untamed tongue is placed behind the guard rails of a loving God. Your words should pass by Him before reaching the one standing near.
Have a blessed day!
