Good morning from The Garden!

It’s a very hot day; I take a refreshing drink of iced tea. Early each morning I enjoy a fresh cup of steaming hot coffee–refreshing, stimulating, wonderful. Very hot, very cold, equally enjoyable.

But there is nothing worse than either of these drinks at room temperature–lukewarm!

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other. Because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15,16.

The church in Laodicea had become lukewarm and stagnant.  The believers did not take a stand for anything.  They were lazy in their faith and had begun to follow any way of thinking brought before them.  In doing this, they were actually following nothing. The church had become hardened and self-satisfied; it was being destroyed from within.

God has written His Word for us to follow.  It never changes.  It has no errors.  No one can rewrite his commands to suit their own way of thinking.  When we try to change His Word, we become lukewarm to the Mission that is before us.  As Christians, we cannot be half-hearted; we cannot follow God half-way. We cannot be self-sufficient or self-satisfied.  When we are lukewarm and without passion for Christ and His teachings, we are no better than those who are cold and believe not.

We cannot be luke-warm; we need to be red-hot, fired-up, totally committed, and ready to express our faith in word and deed. We must ask God to keep us on fire for His Word and ready to defend His Grace to those around us who want to challenge our belief.

I pray that we will keep God’s fire burning in our hearts today.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
