“The Lord said to Gideon, ‘You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands.'” Judges 7:2.
Self-sufficiency can cause us to believe that we are strong enough to do anything in our own strength. This can be an enemy greater than any other.
To prevent this attitude in Gideon’s soldiers, God reduced his forces from 32,000 men to 300 men.
With an army this small there would be no doubt that the victory belonged to God.
“In order that Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her—-” Judges 7:2.
We must avoid the danger of putting too much importance in our own strength. We cannot fight our battles by ourselves no matter how big our support group may be. We must put our confidence in God and give Him the victory.
Have a blessed day!
