Are you searching for the perfect gift? Are you desperately trying to find something special at the last minute? I think we are all a little guilty of this antic.
We always think we need to give someone just what they always wanted or something that they need. We need to remind ourselves that it is a gift. A gift is freely given with no demands or strings attached.
“And when they [the magi] had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts: gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11.
The Christ Child neither needed anything nor did He want anything, yet He received gifts from The Magi as they came and worshipped.
May each gift we give or receive, be a wonderful surprise, given from the heart and received with lots of love.
