The manger scene is embedded in my mind—–the stable, the shepherds, the wise men, Mary and Joseph, and in the middle of it all is the Christ Child, lying in the manger.
The manger scene in our homes is as universal as the Christmas tree. I know each of you reading this has one in your home. Each one may be different but they all carry the same message.
.
The manger scene tells the Christmas story.
Christ was born in a stable and placed a manger——-
“….She brought forth her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn..…” Luke 2:7.
The angel appear to the SHEPHERDS, who are considered by the Jewish community to be the lowliest group of people.
“Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to ALL people—” Luke 2:10.
The SHEPHERDS GET UP and go to Bethlehem and find the Christ Child.
“Let us GO to Bethlehem and see this thing which has happened, which the Lord told us about.” Luke 2:15.
The WISE MEN see the Star and travel a long journey to come to the place where the Young Child is. (They were not at the manger scene, but placing them there helps tell the whole story.)
“When they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and FELL DOWN and worshipped Him.” Matthew 2:11.
We have to RISE UP from our lowly state or COME DOWN from our high and mighty state to meet the Christ Child who is there in the middle waiting for us.
As the prophecy foretold: “And the Gentiles shall come to Thy light, and kings to the brightness of Thy rising.” Isaiah 60:3.
Think on these these things as you pass by the manger scene daily.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
