over and cut a limb off my roof and removed a swing set that was badly damaged from the ice storm earlier this year. I have a list on my phone. It simply states: “Things I can’t do by myself.” This list may name something difficult like a wayward limb, or it may be something that seems to be an easy task, like a light bulb change. But I have learned that there are some things that I need to leave undone until I can get help.
Do you forget to ask for God’s help? Do you try on your own for a long while until finally, as a last resort, you call on God? You suddenly make a list and admit you can’t do it on your own.
Often you may not forget to pray and ask God’s guidance when the “big” problems arrive, but you need God’s help with the little things also that you cannot do for yourself.
As Paul expresses what it means to be a Christian, he states: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12.
Joy, patience, and faithfulness—this trio brings you into the very presence of God who is ready and willing to help you in all things.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
