The world says to hold on to our possessions, to take care of #1, to acquire as much as possible, but God blesses those who give freely of their time, possessions, and energy.
When we give, God supplies us with more so we can give even more. Giving helps us to keep the right perspective on our possessions. The more we give, the less dependent we are on material things, and the more we can see all things as gifts from God to be used to help others.
Corrie ten Boom stated it this way: “The measure of life is not its duration, but its donation.” I like that thought.
