In the book of Daniel we find the familiar story of three of Daniel’s friends–Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. We read that they were thrown into a fiery furnace because they refused to bow down to the golden statue of King Nebuchadnezzar. They were confident enough in the power of the One True God that they stood faithful no matter the outcome.
What they said to the king is an important lesson for us all:
1. “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand. O King.” Daniel 3:17.
They knew God was in control, not the king. They knew that God was able to save them.
2. “But even if He does not, we want you to know, O, King, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up,.” Daniel 3:18.
They were saying as Jesus did in the Garden, Nevertheless, “Thy will be done,” They were faithful in God’s promise to be with them.
We may not always understand God’s will in our lives or why prayers are answered in a certain way, but we are commanded to be faithful to His will and in His guidance.
Just as Daniel’s friends did many years ago, you must trust Him with your heart, trust Him with the outcome—– trust Him with your life.
Have a blessed day!
