Have you ever read on the box: “Some assembly required”?—my biggest nightmare.
Instructions are usually found in a five-ten page pamphlet, in 10 different languages, and containing every letter in the alphabet. I always just try it my way first. When my self-ability fails, I once again try reading the pamphlet. Now I am exhausted and I am still no closer to having the finished product.
The instructions that you can find in Micah 6:8 are simple and specific:
“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
In the scripture passages just prior to this one, you will find the many ways men had tried to worship God in their own ways by doing things on their own: “…..bow down; offer burnt offerings with young calves; offer thousands of rams, rivers of oil, even their first born………..”
But God makes the instructions easy for them and for us today:
“Act justly”—-This simply means be fair in your dealings with others.
“Love mercy“: Show kindness and mercy to those who have wronged you in a sincere way.
“Walk humbly”: Let humility help you to place others before yourself.
God has made his commandments clear, if we will all just read the instructions first.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
