Good morning from The Garden!

The apostle Paul established a church in Thessalonica but had to flee the city because of persecution. He wrote words of encouragement to the church some time later. When the people responded, he got Good news and Bad news.

The Good news was that some were growing in their faith.

The Bad news was that false teachings were filtering in about the second coming of Christ. Many had completely quit working and were just sitting around waiting for Christ to return. They were no longer useful in God’s work—well, you know what the Bible says about idle hands. Their lack of activity led to sin. Their sin kept them from growing in the faith.

Their intentions were noble at first. They may have thought that they were being spiritual by not working, but Paul explains to them that being responsible and being ready for Christ’s return means obeying Him in every area of life

No matter what happens in our lives, we must live in such a way that our daily lives will be pleasing to Him.

May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
