1 Corinthians 2:9 |
Good morning from The Garden!
The late great news commentator Paul Harvey is best known for his spot called “The rest of the story.”
Wouldn’t you like to know the “rest of the story” on some of the individuals in the Bible?
One in particular comes to mind:
Malcus was an official of the high priest Caiaphas who came to the Garden to arrest Jesus. The impetuous apostle Peter, unable to stand by helplessly, took out his sword and cut off Malchus’ right ear.
“Then Simon Peter, who had a sword drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)” John 18:10.
Jesus rebuked the disciples for this show of violence and restored the severed ear.
“—–but Jesus answered, ‘No more of this!’ And He touched the man’s ear and healed him.” Luke 22:51.
That’s all we know of Malchus’ story!
His ear was cut off and suddenly it was completely healed. Did he go home the same man? I don’t think so!
Did he forget about that day in the Garden? I don’t think so!
Did he stand at the foot of the cross? Maybe!
Did he share with others his experience? Probably!
Someday I will know——-.
Someday all will be revealed———-
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him—” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
—I will sit down and ask, and when I do, God will then tell me “the rest of the story.”
