Good morning from The Garden!

Jonah is the book of the Bible wedged between Obediah and Micah. It is only three pages long, but packed full of a powerful message to us all.

Have you ever tried to run away from God? Jonah did and God found him, got his attention, and then convinced him that God’s way was the only way.

Jonah knew God had a special job for him to do, but he did not want to do it. Jonah wanted God to deny the people of Ninevah the same forgiveness that he himself had cherished. So he went the opposite direction—away from Ninevah and away from God—or so he thought.

Choice, not chance, placed Jonah in a predicament.

Remember the story? Jonah spent thinking time in the belly of a big fish–and “Then—-

—-the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: ‘Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.’ Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh.”
Jonah 3:1-3.

God may not place us inside a whale to get our attention, but he can always find us. We can never run so far that we are out of God’s reach or out of God’s love.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
