Why do we always want to do it our own way, instead of doing things God’s way?
Even though God wants to hold on to us and prevent us from straying away from His protection, we often tug on the lease as far as we can.
Not long ago I saw a cartoon of a very small boy being pulled down the sidewalk by a huge Great Dane. The little boy was trying his best to pull back on the leash, all the while shouting, “Now, let’s get this straight. You are my dog! I am not your boy!”
God wants to tell us this same thing. “Quit trying my patience! Just trust me, walk with me, and let me lead!”
“Dear Children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous....” 1 John 3:7.
When we let God lead, we find the confidence to enjoy our Christian walk. God’s path may be rugged but it is never wrong. It never fails.
“In Your unfailing love You will lead the people You have redeemed. In Your strength You will guide them to Your Holy dwelling.” Exodus 15:13.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
