This week and the weeks ahead across our nation seniors will pass from the familiar halls of high school and college and enter a new stage of life. With this change, they take with them God’s hand of protection and guidance. But they must decide whether they will hold on to His hand or let go. They are our future and they will make a difference in our world, good or bad. I want them to know that God sees them as worthy to do His work.
Before becoming a Christian, Paul was a zealous Pharisee who was an enemy of Christianity and a persecutor of Christians.
Even though he became probably the most influential of all the apostles, he felt unworthy to be called an apostle because of his past.
“For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.” 1 Corinthians 15:9.
Paul was filled with humility. But above all, he recognized one very important fact.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than, all of them—yet Not I, but the GRACE of GOD that was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10.
Paul helps us realize that true humility does not mean that we should feel that we are worthless.
We should realize that we are who we are because of who He is. As we acknowledge His grace in our lives, we allow Him to use our abilities and our limitations to further His kingdom.
So to these seniors I say, “Hold God’s hand and change the world for Him.”
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
