Yesterday was June 6th—-D-Day. I had not realized this until my young nephew Carter looked at me in VBS and said, “Today is D-Day.” I’m sad to say that I had to think for a moment to realize what that even meant. —-Normandy Beach–Oh, yes, I have studied about it, but somehow forgot it. In WWII the allied forces, which included our own country fought evil and won, but after many sacrifices.
When young minds, such as Carter, learn and remember, my heart is warmed and encouraged. Why? Because if we don’t teach our young people of the sacrifices made against evil, then they will never know how to fight evil, and it lives today in our society and in our homes.
We may not be fighting on Normandy Beach in France, but we are, never the less, fighting to save our nation and our world from following Satan and his evil ways.
Whether it is a business, a club, a religion, a public leader, or an individual that leads us away from God’s Word and the plan that God has for all of us, we must fight. We fight not with weapons or cruelty, but with the heart, strong in our belief and faithful in our lives.
Read in John 16:16-33 the words of Christ when He is talking to His people about being a disciple in the world they are living in, “….I have told you these things, so that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world….” John 16:33.
So we must remember the past, live faithfully in the present, and look forward to a heavenly future.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
