A new year!!! There is just something about starting over that gives us a sense of excitement. It’s like getting a second chance.
That is why New Year resolutions are so popular. We always pledge to do better this time at something. The tricky part is keeping these commitments. This requires diligent self-discipline.
God’s Holy scriptures present to us the best RESOLUTION of all. The wisdom found in Proverbs tells us to heed the words of the Bible, God’s instruction to us.
We are to act on God’s direction that we find in daily Bible Study. The application is what brings the study to life and touches our hearts and the hearts of those around us.
“Hold on to instruction[God’s Word], do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.” Proverbs 4:13-15.
This resolution is powerful and definite. If we truly make this resolution, we will bring in the New Year with a determined mind to protect ourselves from the influence of those who will lead us away from God.
