Good morning from The Garden!

Even though this verse is mentioned often as the shortest verse in the Bible, it has a profound long-lasting impact on us.

Jesus wept.” John 11:35.

These words come at a time when Jesus stood before the grave of Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha.  He had been dead for several days.

Jesus obviously wasn’t weeping for Lazarus because death through the eyes of Jesus would not make Him weep.

He might have been weeping because He had decided to bring Lazarus back into a world of sin.

He might have been weeping for the lack of faith He saw in Mary and Martha.

But I feel He was weeping WITH Mary and Martha.  He wept because of their deep sense of grief.

How often have you sat with a friend or loved one and shed tears of grief WITH them because of your love for them?  Even though you cannot feel the same loss they have experienced, you still weep WITH them.

Jesus shares your sorrow, your loss, your grief, your disappointment because He cares for you as no other can.

You should never feel afraid to share your deepest emotions or true feelings with Him.

He weeps because He cares.  He cares because He loves. He loves because that’s just who He is.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
