I once read this statement: “It is not a crime to be rich, nor a virtue to be poor. The sin lies in hoarding wealth and keeping it from circulating freely to all who need it.” This makes me think of that jar of change that I always have. I’m not sure why I have it, or why I am so reluctant to spend change. I just empty my change purse and start over. This becomes a habit–a bad one.
Do you have any loose change? Every penny stored up is a penny not in circulation and therefore not beneficial to anyone.
Giving can become a habit also–a good one.–People are often hesitant to give to others or to God for fear of not having enough to meet their own needs or the needs of their family. We are to have faith that as we give, God will bless us in a mighty way.
“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
