Good morning from the Garden!

Imagine this scenario! You are driving your car in the middle of the desert with nothing on either side for miles. Then from miles in the distance you notice an 18-wheeler coming toward you. It gets closer and closer coming just inches from your car. What will you do? I think I know. You will steer away from the truck because it presents danger. You have time to think and time to make a decision to get out of the way.

Everyday you face this scenario except you are not in the desert. You are on the highways and roads that you are familiar to you. The same truck coming toward you does not make you feel anxious or afraid, even though it will face you only inches away from your car. You are singing along with the radio or having casual conversation with a passenger, or talking on the cell phone. The truth is that you are comfortable with this danger, yet it is just as close to you as it was in the desert.

When we see sin coming at us from afar, we get out of the way. When we allow sin to get this close to us on a daily basis, we get comfortable and fail to see the danger.

“If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” Genesis 4:6-7

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
