It’s not the house you lived in, it’s how you lived in the house. “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:7; “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15b.
It’s not the money you had, it’s how you spent your money. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:34.
It’s not the number of words you spoke in a lifetime, it’s how you chose the words that you spoke. “Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 12:18.
It’s not the special talent that you had, it’s how you used the talent. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10.
It’s not the number of years you spent on this earth, it’s how you spent those years. “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12.
To number our days simply means to weigh the importance of each moment of life.
Realizing that life is short helps us use the little time that we have more wisely and for eternal good.
Have a blessed day!
