On my way to town from my house, I have to cross the train tracks. Often just as I reach the spot where the train tracks intersect the road, I hear the ringing sound of the warning, I see the flashing lights, and then the bars come down. I now have no choice but to wait until the train passes.
On this particular day I was in a hurry so I wasn’t feeling very patient, if you know what I mean. I didn’t have time for this—get the picture. But the train came—car after car after car! I did not think it would ever finish crossing my path. Many times a box car would be followed by a flat car, and I would think it was over, but another box care would follow.
But still I waited!
Sometimes trials and problems come into your life when you least expect them. You aren’t ready for them, and you don’t have time to bother with them. But there they are–one after another after another. You think there is no end, but God promises to be there with you, waiting to bring you through these trials and ready to celebrate with you when you overcome them.
You know, there was something about that train—all of a sudden the last care passed–the bars lifted–the lights stopped blinking–and I knew I could go on my way safely.
“Weeping may remain for a night, but Joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
