Good morning from The Garden!

I am blessed.  My children and grandchildren all surprised me and met me for church.  Any other Sunday they are usually scattered and are all worshipping at their own churches.  This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but it was a wish that I had silently held in my heart my whole birthday month.  Yes, birthday!  They had all planned a big 80th birthday surprise for me, and surprise, it was indeed!  I said to them, “How did you know that is what I wanted?”

My daughter answered, “Like we don’t know you, Mom!”   I just laughed.

The bouquet of flowers that were in the church were beautiful and given from my children to honor me.

After church we all went to eat, and were joined by other family members and friends.—-and yes, there were presents and more flowers.  (Kinda fun, wouldn’t you say?)

I’m writing this to you, not to brag——well, maybe to brag a little bit.  No, seriously, I value my family, and I treasure the way they take care of me, as I have tried to take good care of them in the past.

I found this scripture today and thought it was appropriate.

“…..but if a widow has children or grandchildren,  these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God…....”  1 Timothy 5:4.

I say thank you to my children for embracing me, caring for me,  and for allowing me to feel God’s love through them daily.

I am warmed by their faith and love, and I know that God is pleased.

My birthday is still 2 days away but the celebration is complete.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
