Good morning from The Garden!

“Go for it!” “Look out for #1!” “Find yourself!” “Set high goals and achieve them!”

Every motivational and self-help book is filled with this advice. But the hidden outcome of this advice can sometimes be selfish and can lead you into greed and destructive competition.

But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth––” James 3:13,14.

God’s wisdom keeps you from comparing yourself to others and prevents you from always wanting what someone else has.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” James 3:13.

It’s important to want to be the best you can be.  But in seeking this goal, make sure that you put God first.

God’s wisdom can help you grow and will keep you humble at the same time.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
