Good morning from The Garden!

Cain was Adam and Eve’s first born. Abel was the second son. Cain worked the soil and Abel kept flocks.

Both men brought offerings to God. God accepted Abel’s and rejected Cain’s. We are not told why God chose to reject Cain’s offer–probably because of the attitude of the giving.  God did not accept the gift, but He loved the giver.  We hear the voice of a loving father saying, “Try again.”

Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you so angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.’ “ Genesis 4:6-7

God encouraged Cain to right the wrong and try again. Cain refused to hear God’s voice and allowed sin to enter his door.

When you are told you are wrong, or when you have displeased God, don’t get angry and give up.  Take a good look at yourself and choose to try again. The reward will be waiting for you.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
