Good morning from The Garden!

David was a simple shepherd boy when God told Samuel to anoint him to be king of Israel.

It was no accident that the shepherds were the first to hear of the Savior’s birth.

The shepherds were humble people. It would not be easy for them to tell all of Bethlehem of the birth of the Messiah.

Most people in those days did not accept the shepherds –possibly because they were unkempt from being in the pastures for long periods of time watching their flocks and protecting their flocks day and night. But they were the ones chosen by God to hear the angel proclaim the news of the Messiah’s birth.

God looked beyond the smelly clothes, and the ragged appearance and looked into the heart of those He could count on to tell the good news to the people of Bethlehem.

When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.” Luke 2:17.

The shepherds HEARD the news; they SOUGHT the baby; they FOUND Him just as the angel had said; they SAW him for themselves; and they TOLD others about what they knew; they PRAISED God for the coming of the Savior. (Luke 2:11-20.)

This should be our response to the Christ: HEAR, SEEK, FIND, SEE, TELL, AND PRAISE. ——–so others will know.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
