Before becoming a Christian, Paul was a zealous Pharisee who was an enemy of Christianity and a persecutor of Christians.
Even though he became probably the most influencial of all the apostles, he felt unworthy to be called an apostle because of his past.
“For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.” 1 Corinthians 15:9. He felt unworthy, but he was not worthless.
Paul was filled with humility. But above all, he recognized one very important fact.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than, all of them—yet Not I, but the GRACE of GOD that was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10.
Paul helps us realize that true humility does not mean that we should feel that we are worthless.
We should realize that we are who we are because He is who He is.
As we acknowledge His grace in our lives, we allow Him to use our abilities and our limitations to further His kingdom. We do not dwell on the past, but instead, we embrace the present and look forward to the future.——all in His name.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
