“Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6.
When my babies first tried to walk, we would give them a little space to try, but make sure that we were never very far away. We would hold out our hands and stay close, while allowing the toddler to experience walking on his or her own.
You’ve seen this yourself! A group of able-body adults–arms outstretched but not touching, staggering in a circle following after a small child. Sometimes the child falls, but very quickly someone is there to pick him or her up again, and the process begins all over.
I picture this scene as I think of this verse from the 23rd Psalm. God follows us, letting us toddle through our learning period, but is always there for us with outstretched arms.
He is the real deal—He, for sure, follows us through life with His goodness and His mercy. He never gives up on us until we reach eternity. We trust Him and never give up on Him
Have a blessed day!
