Twelve men (one from each tribe of Israel) went on a reconnaissance mission to explore the land of Canaan. In Exodus 13 we can find the story of what they found.
God had already given them the land. He had told them that it was the land of their forefathers, flowing with milk and honey. They should have had confidence in the Word that had come from their Heavenly Father.
They returned with fruit from the land: “They carried it (the cluster of grapes) on a pole between two men..…” It was indeed fertile and fruitful as the Lord had said.
The message of this mission is the attitude of the men who returned.
Ten reported back to Moses: “We went into the land….It does flow with milk and honey! ……….. BUT—(there’s that word!). BUT the people who live there are powerful and the cities are fortified. In other words: “We can’t go there! It’s too hard!” v.28.
Two of the men (Caleb and Joshua) saw victory with God on their side. “Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, FOR WE CAN CERTAINLY DO IT.’ “
Ten MEN saw the land through FEAR; Caleb saw the land through FAITH.
Through which eyes are you living today?
Have blessed day!
