Words are powerful, and how you use them reflects on your relationship with God.
“Do not go about spreading slander among your people.” Leviticus 19:16.
Speaking the truth is important, but avoiding the telling of lies is equally important.
The scriptures state that we should think before we speak. “….Everyone should be quick to listen and slow to speak……..” James 1:19. We should never carelessly make remarks that will be damaging to another’s reputation.
Ex. Place water in a small bottle, look at it, and then toss it from the bottle on the wall— Ooooops! Change your mind and place the water back into the bottle. IMPOSSIBLE, right?
It is no less difficult to take back words carelessly spoken; the damage is done.
“He who guards his lips, guards his life.” Proverbs 13:3.
Have a blessed day!
