When Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth…” in Matthew 5:14, He knew the many purposes of salt. The analogy can extend many directions.
My children can tell you that if they mention having a sour throat, I always tell them, “Gargle with warm salt water.” I believe in it, my mom believed in it, my grandmother believed in it, etc, etc……why?…. because salt heals.
You become this healing salt when you give your life to the living Christ. You can then listen, encourage, comfort, support, teach, and help to heal those around you.
Jesus called each of us to be “the salt of the earth.” Decide what that means in your own life. Look around and see who you can help to heal in Jesus’ name.
