“Zeal without knowledge is not good; nor is it good to be hasty and miss the way.” Proverbs 19:2.
This proverb urges you to understand what you’re getting into and where you want to go before you take the first step.
Do you often move hastily through life, rushing headlong into the unknown with the world spinning around you. For example:
Many people marry without knowing what to expect of their partner or of married life.
Others try drugs or other immoral behavior without pausing to consider the consequences.
Some plunge into jobs without evaluating whether they are suitable to that line of work.
Individuals often make a decision, even if it is the wrong one, just to fit in or to get along.
This proverb urges you to understand what you are getting into and where you want to go before you take the first step.
When that zealous spirit lures you into making a hasty decision, you must be sure that you ask God first. You must be sure that you are following God and the path He has chosen for you. If you don’t, then you may miss the way.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
