Three boys were in the schoolyard, boasting about their fathers.
The first boy said, “My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a poem and gets $50 for it.”
The second boy said, “That’s nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a song and gets $100 for it.”
The third boy said, “I beat you both. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a sermon, and it takes six people to collect all the money!”
When I read this, I laughed and thought, “In the eye of the beholder!!”
Competition is often a part of our lives, whether it is a child boasting about his dad or adults boasting about what they own. Maybe that is why enough is never enough. When we have the desire to always have more, we are basically saying that we don’t trust God enough to provide. This insecurity can lead to the love of money—whether we are rich or poor.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.‘” Hebrews 13:5
The solution is to trust God and He will provide your needs.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
