Good morning from The Garden!

Several years ago my sister and I flew to North Carolina to her son’s wedding.  We rented a car and were confident that we could find the location of the ceremony.  We followed the GPS and got  lost.  We stopped and asked for directions and still got lost. We finally made it, but that is not the moral of this story.

When the wedding was over, a new friend told us that he knew the way and would lead us back to our hotel. All we had to do was follow him.

Well, let me tell you—-I followed closely! Other cars tried to sneak in and separate me from him, but I was alert and stayed close. I did not let anything come between me and the one I was following.

Remember Peter, the devoted disciple. He loved Jesus and wanted to follow Him, but guess what? “Peter followed Him at a distance.” Mathew 26:58. Then he lost his way and denied knowing Christ. We know this time was brief, and he later chose to follow closely and became a powerful warrior for Christ.

Each day you have to follow Christ closely. Other things will weave in and out of your life trying to separate you from Him. When you allow this to happen, you begin to follow Him from a distance and can gradually lose your way.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world, Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
