While eternal life is a gift given on the basis of God’s grace, each of us will still be judged by Christ.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” 2 Corinthians 5:10.
God’s gracious gift of salvation does not free us from faithful obedience.
All Christians must give an account of how we lived –not to see if we get to heaven, but to acknowledge how much heaven was seen in us on earth.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10.
We are saved TO DO good works; we are not saved by our good works.
Like a loving parent, God wants us to make Him proud.
