I wrote this poem many years ago, but it comes to my mind today and I wanted to share.
My Daily Prayer
Heavenly Father be with me today.
Draw me close so I will not stray.
Lift me up when I am down.
Help me wear a smile instead of a frown.
Fill my day with thoughts that are kind.
May ways to help others come to my mind.
Open my heart when closed it would be,
When others are not quite so kind to me.
Give me Your vision when wrong I see,
So I can forgive others as you forgive me.
Bless my ears as I listen today,
To another’s needs along the way.
Soften my words before I speak out,
So words that lift up are all that I shout.
Grant me Your wisdom for decisions I make.
May my thoughts and actions be only for Your sake.
Whatever is up to me, Dear Lord, I pray,
May it bring peace to my world today.
