“A man with leprosy came and knelt before Him and said, ‘Lord if you are willing, you can make me clean.’
Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ He said. ‘Be clean!’ Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.” Matthew 8:1-4
Everyone in Jesus’ day knew that leprosy was a terrifying disease. It was incurable and contagious. Those who had it were isolated and most often sent to live on a colony with other lepers.
Leprosy was incurable, yet Jesus made the man clean.
Sin is an incurable disease; we all have it and it is also contagious.
Only the healing touch of Christ can take away our sin and restore us to spiritual health.
But first, like the leper, we must realize our condition and our inability to heal ourselves and ask God for His healing grace.
He is waiting and loving and longing to forgive and make us clean.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
