Good morning from The Gardem!

This is the question from a four year old boy on the way home from school:

Evan:  “Munnie, what will happen on the last day?”

Munnie:(Grandmother):  Well, you will probably have a play day, and your teacher or parents will bring snacks, or maybe your class will go swimming.  It will be a fun day…..”

Evan:  No, Munnie, I mean on the last day on the earth…”

Wow, imagine a four year old thinking such a profound thought!

Evan’s grandfather (Buck) went to heaven a short time ago and this has been on his little mind often.  So at this point, Munnie recalled the scriptures and answered as simply and completely as she could.

We may be more mature than a four year old, but we often ask this same question:  “What will happen on the last day?”

As Christians, we find the answer in God’s Word.  We may not fully understand all there is to know about heaven and life everlasting, but we can accept by faith that He will come again and receive us into His Kingdom. John 14:3.

“..…According to the Lord’s own Word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.  For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first.

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever.  Therefore encourage one another with these words.”   1 Thessalonians 4:15-18.

And so with the faith of a little one, we believe and are comforted.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
