Good morning from The Garden!
Several years ago my friend and I took the time one afternoon to stop at a pottery barn. We watched the owner as he picked up a shapeless clump of wet clay. Then he molded it and shaped it until it was a beautiful piece of work that was useful in some way. Although useful, this vessel was still fragile and could be broken easily.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7.
This verse refers to the light of Christ being stored in a fragile container—our weak bodies.
The focus here is not on the perishable container, but on its priceless contents–God’s power dwelling in us.
Though we are weak, God molded us into the vessel to carry His Word to a lost world. Our responsibility is to let the world see Christ through us.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
