“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4.
We are to show genuine interest in others, but we cannot become consumed with the happiness of others. Sometimes in trying to bring about peace and unity, we begin to think that we can actually make others happy. If we are the source, then the happiness is short-lived. We can only try not to be the source of their unhappiness.
Some individuals just choose never to be satisfied. They choose to be unhappy.
Joyce Meyer wrote: “You are responsible to people, but God has not made you responsible for their joy.“
True happiness is JOY, the JOY that only God can give.
Don’t let others steal your joy by bringing you into the “unhappy” fold. Instead, continue to live unselfishly, to love unconditionally, and to reach out to others with the joy that God has placed in your heart. Then others may follow your lead.
Have blessed day!
In Christian love,
