Why is it sometimes so hard to believe the simple message of salvation?
The worldly scholars of today are always trying to make sense of things and to explain the explainable and the unexplainable in their own terms.
But wait! This mindset did not begin in our generation. Read aloud the words from Paul’s letter to the Christians at Corinth:
“I know very well how foolish it sounds to those who are lost, when they hear that Jesus died to save them. But we who are saved recognized this message as the very power of God. For God says, ‘I will destroy all human plans of salvation no matter how wise they seem to be, and ignore the best ideas of men, even the most brilliant of them.’ ” 1 Corinthians 1:18-19 Living Bible
It is a simple message: Man cannot save himself—- No knowledge can save him, only faith in the Risen Lord can bring eternal life. There is no other explanation.
