Good morning from The Garden!

Question–How can doing a good thing be bad? Answer—When it is for appearances only!

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.” Matthew 6:2.

The giving that the Pharisees did accomplished much good for the moment maybe, but because they gave to impress others around them, Jesus tells his followers that these empty acts alone will be the Pharisees’ only reward.

They gave for appearances only. Their actions may have been good, but their motives were hollow, not drawn from true compassion.

God gives a lasting reward for those who are sincere in their faith and give with a pure heart.

Have blessed day!
