The Sunday School teacher was diligently teaching her youngsters the Bible lesson. The children sat there wide-eyed and attentive!
She began
—--The children of Israel—
Crossed the Red Sea
Beat the Philistines
Built the temple
—–But the teacher wasn’t through yet——
She continued:
–—-The children of Israel—
Fought the Egyptians
Conquered the Amorites
Stood up to the Romans
Little Katie was sooooo impressed as she listened intensely, but then she raised her hand slowly.
The teacher said, “Yes, Katie, what is your question?”
Katie replied, “What I want to know is where were all the grown-ups!!!”
Unless we become as children—-–“And He said: ‘I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’ ” Matthew 18:2.
When studying God’s Word, may we pay attention, listen with our whole hearts, and ask good questions. In other words, may we become as children in God’s eyes. After all, He is our Heavenly Father.
