Awwww! Christmas music everywhere–We launched the Christmas season last night with our annual Community Cantata. It is always such a wonderful experience for me. The crowd that gathered received a special blessing, but I think I speak for all the choir when I say “We were blessed.”
So many Christmas carols contain the word “Peace.”
Why do we sing about peace at Christmastime? Why is there so much emphasis on peace on earth?
Why?—-because the prophets foretold that the Messiah would be the Prince of Peace, and the birth of Christ celebrates this peace.
In John 14:27 Jesus lovingly says, “Peace I leave with you; MY peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.“
I emphasize the “MY” because the peace that Christ gives is like no other. It is comforting; it is long-lasting; it is genuine; it is immediate; it is loving; it has no end…………
Reach out and pull in the peace that Jesus promises. You will feel secure in His love no matter the circumstances. He is waiting to give it to you today.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
