In Matthew 5-7 we can find what we often call “The Sermon on the Mount.” These are the words of Jesus as He teaches his disciples and others how to live. At the end of this passage Jesus uses this illustration:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rains came down, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25.
The house built on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ (the rock)and His teachings will not fall, though the world spins around it.
Notice that His words do not say the rain of tears won’t come or the winds of uncertainty won’t blow or the floods of trouble won’t come into your life. Jesus simply states that you will stand.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6.
Build you life on Jesus, the one and only rock solid foundation that will hold you up no matter what comes your way.
