When my sister and I finished our breakfast at Waffle House and asked for a ticket, the waitress said, “Your ticket has been paid.” Now we don’t know who our benefactor was, but we know how it felt to receive this kindness.
While eternal life is a gift given on the basis of God’s grace, each of us will still be judged by Christ.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” 2 Corinthians 5:10.
God’s gracious gift of salvation does not free us from faithful obedience.
All Christians must give an account of how we lived –not to see if we get to heaven, but to acknowledge how much heaven was seen in us on earth. God wants us to have a loving heart and a forgiving spirit that flows from our love for Him.
The individual that paid our ticket did not do so to be recognized, he merely meant to be kind. I am sure that God smiled.
Like a loving parent, God always wants us to make Him proud.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
