Good morning from The Garden!

Wow!  We have had quite a week-end.  Southerners just can’t handle icy situations.  We can’t travel the roads or get to school or get to work.  We clean the shelves of the grocery stores and dollar stores, and we feel trapped in our homes– waiting—–for the ice to clear.  Oddly enough, the ice is still here.  The temperature is still below freezing, so nothing is clearing up.

I’m not making light of the situation because we actually do not know how to be prepared.  Many are without electricity and have no heat and some are without water because of frozen pipes.  One of my sons has cattle that are calving and he has to keep a watchful eye morning and evening for the new born.  My other son is traveling the parish roads helping to clear trees that have fallen and rescuing travelers.  These are not good times.

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.” Ecclesiastes 7:14.

God allows both good times and bad times to come to everyone. He blends them in our lives in such a way that we can’t predict the future or count on human wisdom and power.

Notice the words “God allows.” Many times we want to blame God when hard times come, but we do not want to give him credit for the good times.

God can bring good results out of tough times if we see His love clearly.

Remember Noah saw no end to the flood—suddenly, there was the rainbow! (Genesis 9:16)

I know there are many affected by this winter storm,  and I pray that all will be safe and warm.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
