Good morning from The Garden!

Nearly 200 years ago there were two Scottish brothers, John and David Livingstone. John set out to become wealthy and he did.

While John was making money, David knelt and prayed: “I will place no value on anything I have or possess unless it is in relationship to the Kingdom of God.”

David then spent his life as a medical missionary to Central Africa. He paid no attention to the world outside his mission field and had no idea what the world thought of him. Yet for years a reporter H.M. Stanley searched for him. When he finally found him, he said with a mixture of pride and relief, “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?”  The world remembers.

A Google search lists John Livingstone simply as “the brother of David Livingstone.”

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God..….”  Matthew 6:33.  Putting God first makes all the difference.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
