Good morning from The Garden!

“Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 12:18.

There are many things that can make you wise, but the one that stands out is the way you control the tongue. When someone offends you, you automatically want to speak out and fight back. You want to give them what they gave you.

God’s Holy Scriptures tell you to react differently.  God gave us the Holy Spirit to intercede for us, to help us think before we speak.

Ask the Holy Spirit to give you “A gentle answer” that “turns away wrath……” Proverbs 15:1a.

You can’t control what others do or say; you can only take control of what you say to others. The Holy Spirit helps you to do just that. You can be positive and then maybe you can bring about a positive outcome.

Choose words that heal and not words that hurt.  “…but a harsh word stirs up anger...”  Proverbs 15:1b

This sums it up:

Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
